Using SunType for Display Advertising...

An important capability added to SunType's Classified Advertising System is the space

reservation system for display advertising. The display system retains the scheduling features

of the classified  system, but allows reservation of a specific amount of space for an ad being

prepared by the composition department.  There are two types of display ads supported by

the system: "in-line" ads are single-column ads to be flowed with the regular classifieds within

categories; "not-in-line" ads are multi-column ads (which can't be placed automatically by

Quark), which are normally listed on a run sheet or  transferred to an automated layout

program for placement. In any case, the classified system maintains all of the information

necessary to the planning and layout of the classified section. We have several publications

using the SunType system for their entire ad scheduling and billing, eliminating the need for

 separate display billing programs. (There are, however, some limitations and constraints on

this approach, and we normally only recommend it for papers that don't already have a

 functional billing system for display.)
