Quark 7.X Issues...

 
There are some major compatibility issues between Quark 6.Xand Quark 7.X. Using Quark 7 to produce files that can be read or placed in Quark 6 ranges from difficult to impossible. In general, this means that companies who want to move to Quark 7 can't really use Quark 6 to build the pages unless they PDF all of the ads beforehand.

In addition, you can't just choose the file version to save anymore. With Quark 7, you have to choose to "Export as Project" to get the marginally compatible file. There is a fair amount of discussion on the Quark user forums online about the issues.

We have tested the Xtags filter for Quark 7 and it seems to work just fine. If you are interested in purchasing the Xtags call out office at 800-458-4605. The only issues programming found is that you lose the Category Pick list and Reflow with Headers facilities that are in ClassLink.
